Current Training Programmes and Other Activities
In line with the preamble of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, we firmly believe that the family is “the fundamental group of society and the natural environment for the growth and well-being of all its members and particularly children” (United Nations, 1989). Family strengthening (FS) services focus on preventing child-family separation and addressing its underlying causes to ensure that children’s and young people’s rights are fully realized within their family of origin.
30 teachers and principals of Early Childhood Development Centres participated in the 2-day Protective Behaviours Training to become PB Practitioners. As such, they can now deliver the training in 1-hour sessions spread out over weeks to the children in their EDC care.
