Training Overview
Relational Practice, Trauma & Mental Health, Protective Behaviours, and Safeguarding
Child and youth care workers need adequate working conditions and the necessary competencies to effectively carry out their complex roles. They either offer support to vulnerable families in challenging situations or provide specialized care to children and young people who have experienced various degrees of adversity and trauma, factors that can impact their entire lifespan.
All groups of practitioners, whether in family strengthening or in alternative care services, must be well-prepared and equipped with the required attitudes, knowledge, and skills, along with the support they need. Access to regular one-on-one reflection sessions and other learning and development (L&D) opportunities is essential.
Our Training Programmes address the need for specialized L&D opportunities for CYC practitioners. These programmes focus on their specific professional roles, the characteristics of relational child and youth care, and the importance of self-care.
Read up more about our understanding of learning and development, the comprehensive L&D approach for caregivers and other CYC practitioners, trauma-informed care and mental health programmes, the Protective Behaviours programme to strengthen children’s resilience, as well as our safeguarding training and capacity building in the following pages.

In addition to individual training programmes, we can support your organization in implementing a comprehensive learning and development approach. This framework will support you in continuously strengthening your child and youth care practitioners. Competency frameworks guide their self-driven growth, while staff members are prepared for specialized L&D support roles.
